Avega agahozo’s programs

Since its establishment, AVEGA has implemented different programs including Medical care, Social economic empowerment, advocacy and Justice, Organizational reinforcement. In 2010, AVEGA started a process of reviewing the focus of its interventions, to adapt to the changing context and stay relevant to the current needs. Through the program review and repositioning process, AVEGA changed its programs to the following thematic areas:

  • WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE PROGRAM
  • HEALTH AND WELL BEING PROGRAM
  • PEACE BUILDING AND SECURITY PROGRAM
  • SOCIAL PROTECTION PROGRAM

AVEGA targets widows of Genocide, and other vulnerable groups in the general community.
AVEGA programs target also men and boys in order to engage them as change agents in the protection and empowerment of women.
Gender equality, environmental protection, and Human-Rights Based Approach (HRBA) cut across all four programs
